UKEREWE ISLAND, JUNE 2017
Are you an artist, photographer, radio producer, or filmmaker?
Designer, tailor, landscape gardener?
Recent graduate? Business professional? Events manager, or social worker?
This is a unique opportunity to share your skills and transform the lives of others.
This June, Standing Voice will host our Summer Skills Workshop: a fortnight-long programme of training, seminars, and workshops supporting communities on Ukerewe Island, in the heart of Tanzania’s Lake Victoria. People with albinism—together with their families and loved ones—will come together to develop skills, build businesses, and celebrate one another’s differences. Children whose education we sponsor will also travel to Ukerewe to take part in sports, art, and other fun activities!
Activities will be based at our recently built training centre, culminating in a spectacular programme of celebrations for International Albinism Awareness Day!
To do this, we need all the help we can get: if you—or anyone you know—has a particular skill, experience, or interest in any of the areas above, get in touch! We’re recruiting expert volunteers from around the world. Together you will travel with Standing Voice to Tanzania to deliver workshops, train communities, and transform lives!

Volunteers will be required to cover their own expenses for flights, accommodation, and food,
at an estimated cost of £850 for two weeks.
Even if you’re not trained in our specified professions, you may have a valuable talent for sport, pottery, construction, or another trade! Please get in touch.
Places are competitive. Apply via email to firstname.lastname@example.org. To learn what it's like to volunteer for Standing Voice, click here.
To run this event, we need to raise £15,000 by June. Even if you don't wish to volunteer, please consider giving to help this cause: click here to make a donation.
